Rosemary Cavenagh-Mainwaring née Cudmore, Kathleen’s sister, was born on 7 May 1904 in Norwood, South Australia. She married her first cousin Rafe Gordon Dutton Cavenagh-Mainwaring (1906–1995) on 11 June 1931 in Whitmore, Staffordshire. They had two children during their marriage. She died on 24 October 1987 in Newcastle under Lyme, Staffordshire, at the age of 83.

Daniel Michael Paul Cudmore (1811–1891), my third great-grandfather, emigrated to Tasmania on the recommendation of his ‘cousin’, Surgeon Russell, of the 63rd Regiment. I don’t know who John James Russell’s parents were nor am I certain how he and Cudmore were related: Assistant Surgeon Dr Russell of the 63rd Regiment (1804 – 1849)
