Helen Rosalie “Rose” Beggs nee Champion de Crespigny 1858–1937 and Francis “Frank” Beggs 1851-1921
My great great aunt Helen Rosalie “Rose” Beggs nee Champion de Crespigny 1858–1937 was the youngest daughter of Philip Robert Champion Crespigny 1817-1879 and Charlotte Frances Champion Crespigny nee Dana 1820-1904. Rose married Frank Beggs in 1876.
In 2022 I inherited some photograph albums from great great aunt Rose and I have done some research on those portrayed therein.

Francis Beggs 1812-1880 and Maria Lucinda Beggs nee White 1826-1914
Rose’s husband Francis “Frank” Beggs 1851-1921 was the oldest son of Francis Beggs 1812-1880 and Maria Lucinda Beggs nee White 1826-1914. Francis and Maria were both born in County Dublin, Ireland. They married in Dublin in 1849. Maria and Francis emigrated (as unassisted passengers) to Victoria, Australia in 1850 per ship “Statesman.” They were accompanied by Francis’ brother, George, and his sister, Sophia.

Francis Beggs (~1766 – 1839)
Francis Beggs was born on 29 September 1812 at The Grange, Malahide, County Dublin, Ireland, son of Francis Beggs (~1766 – 1839) and Clamina (Lyons-Montgomery) Beggs (1786 – 1821).
Francis Beggs born about 1766 married Jane Montgomery (~1778 – ~1804). Their children were:

- Matilda (Beggs) Cairns (~1792 – 1878)
- William Montgomery Beggs Esq (~1800 – 1874)
- Helen (Beggs) Stevenson (~1804 – 1845).
Francis (~41) married Clamina Lyons-Montgomery (~21) (1786 – 1821) on 27 Apr 1808 in Parish of St. Mary, Dublin.

- Sophia Montgomery Grattan (Beggs) Champion de Crespigny (1870 – 1936) was a daughter of Hugh Lyons Montgomery Beggs and his second wife Lavinia nee Heney. Sophia was the second wife of my great great grandfather Philip Champion de Crespigny (1850-1927).
