My great great grandfather

54 Wentworth Cavenagh, son of James Gordon Cavenagh and Anne Coates was born on 13 November 1822 in Hythe, Kent, England. He died on 5 January 1895 in Southsea, Hampshire, England. He married Ellen Jane Mainwaring (1845-1920) on 16 February 1865 in Adelaide, South Australia. In 1892 the family surname was changed to assume the name and arms of Mainwaring in addition to Cavenagh in acknowledgement of the inheritance by Ellen Jane Mainwaring of the family estate at Whitmore.

108 James Gordon Cavenagh, son of Matthew Cavenagh and Catherine Hyde Orfeur was born in 1766 in Innisshannon, Co Cork, Ireland. He died on 11 September 1844 in Castle House, Wexford, Ireland. He married Anne Coates on 23 March 1815 in Hythe, Kent, England.

109 Anne Coates, daughter of Odiarne Coates was born about 1770 in Romney, Kent, England. She died on 18 December 1846 in Castle House, Wexford, Ireland.

They had seven children. My great great grandfather was their fifth child. The fourth child was Orfeur Cavenagh (1820-1891).

216 Matthew Cavenagh, son of James Cavenagh and Anne Lane was born in 1740 in Wexford, Ireland. He died on 22 Jul 1819 in Wexford, Ireland. He married Catherine Hyde Orfeur.

217 Catherine Hyde Orfeur, daughter of John Orfeur and Julianna Hyde was born about 1738 in Cumberland, England. She died on 27 May 1814 in Wexford, Ireland.

218 Odiarne Coates, son of Odiarne Coates and Ann was born 13 May 1742 New Romney, Kent. He first married Sarah (1740-1783) in about 1763 and they had three children. He secondly married Mary in about 1784 and they had two daughters. Odiarne died on 5 February 1798 at New Romney, Kent.

432 James Cavenagh, son of Wentworth Cavenagh was born about 1704. He died in 1769. He married Anne Lane in 1734.
